Itinerary

Step 1 - Departure from Carsac-Aillac
Head directly to our Carsac Canoe Leisure Centre, just a 10-minute drive from Sarlat-La-Canéda. Hop aboard one of our canoes or kayaks and set off for a descent into the heart of the Dordogne Valley.
Step 2 - First calm meanders
You will begin your journey facing the cliffs of Carsac before sailing towards the Cingle de Monfort, which overlooks the Dordogne River from a height of several dozen meters. You will also see the walnut orchards of Turnac.
Step 3 - Passing by the foot of Montfort Castle
A 12th-century historical monument, this building located in the commune of Vitrac will amaze you with its beauty and architectural style. A swimming beach on the left bank opposite the castle will be accessible to fully enjoy the view.
Step 4 - The Caudon Rock
Continue downhill and you will see on your left the “Caudon rock,” referring to the imposing limestone cliff and its natural setting.
A swimming beach will be on your right.
Step 5 - Arrival in Vitrac
As your canoe and kayak trip draws to a close, you can admire the Domaine de Rochebois and its gulf on the right bank, before catching sight of the Vitrac bridge. Your stop will be located just before it, on the left bank.
Step 6 - Returning to base
Depending on the return shuttle schedule chosen at the time of departure, our team will take care of the equipment and you can enjoy the return journey on board our buses.
